BARRIE, ON - Napoleon’s new state-of-the-art logistics centre in Barrie, Ontario, is well underway, with officials predicting that construction will be finished by the end of this year.
Located directly beside the company’s corporate offices and manufacturing facilities, the new 260,000-sq-ft project will bring Napoloen’s grand total to more than 1.4 million square feet of space worldwide. The logistics centre will see centralization of all finished goods, warehousing, and distribution, while freeing up manufacturing space in the company’s three Barrie locations.
Napoleon began in 1976 as a small steel fabrication business launched by Wolfgang Schroeter, who started manufacturing steel railings in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Schroeter’s original stove featured a solid cast iron two-door design, and was produced in a 1,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility.
By 1981, the name “Napoleon®” was added, along with the first single glass door with Pyroceram high temperature ceramic glass. Since those humble beginnings, Napoleon has continued to work with its customers designing and implementing features sought after by discriminating consumers around the world.
