Hearth Industry Mourns the Loss of Former Dura-Vent Sales Executive
John Davis passed away Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 after a long battle with liver cancer. He is survived by Helen, his wife of 45 years, their daughter, Daphne Moore, son-in-law, Ben Moore, and two grandsons John David Moore and Ben Davis Moore.
John graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He was a Vietnam war veteran serving as a U.S. Army Captain in the early 1970’s, and had a 40 year sales and marketing career in the building products industry, including over 20 years with Simpson Dura-Vent where he started as a factory representative and ultimately held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. John retired in Bentonville, Arkansas, the hometown of his daughter, son-in-law and grandsons, shortly after the HPBA trade show in early 2011, where he said his goodbyes to many of his customers... continue reading
HPBA Releases Comprehensive Report on Housing Market
The HPBA released a detailed report today on the housing market, entitled “Housing, Remodeling, and the U.S. Economy,” which was written by HPBA’s Director of Market Research Don Johnson. Johnson compiled the report after attending numerous conferences that dealt with economic issues and the housing market. The report is distributed to HPBA members twice a year. Find the report here
