Tropitone Expands with New Facility in Irvine, Calif

IRVINE, CA – Tropitone Furniture Company Inc will now occupy additional space across the street from its current headquarters and manufacturing facility in Irvine, Calif. The combination of the two addresses at 4 Marconi and 5 Marconi, will increase total square footage by 25%. The Company intends to have the new facility fully operational during the first quarter of 2014.
“A critical component of Tropitone’s strategy is to provide a nimble response to continuously evolving customer requirements,” said Cap Hendrix (pictured), president and CEO of Tropitone. “In 1970, sixteen years after Tropitone began in Sarasota, FL, we established a facility in Orange County, CA providing the bi-coastal presence we enjoy today. We believe that a responsive business model based upon the principles of close-to-market, manufacture-to-order and short-cycle-time creates unique value in the marketplace. This significant expansion of our presence in Southern California strengthens our dedication to providing customers what they want, when they want it.”
Tropitone’s current headquarters and primary West Coast manufacturing facility is located at 5 Marconi, Irvine, CA. The new 4 Marconi facility is a combination of office, light manufacturing and warehouse space. The company plans to focus the 5 Marconi facility on manufacturing operations and closely associated support services. Some corporate services will also remain at 5 Marconi.
4 Marconi will be dedicated to product design & development, marketing, sales and corporate support such as finance and executive. The new facility will also include a product showroom. The warehouse space will serve as the company’s warehousing and logistics center for long-lead-time materials.

We are very fortunate to have found a space perfectly suited for Tropitone’s needs literally across the street from our current facility.”

The International Casual Furnishings Association (ICFA) has named Tropitone Tubular Materials Manufacturer of the Year for four consecutive years. The ICFA also named the Company Manufacturer of the Year.
