The Ultimate Tailgate Party

The Ultimate Tailgate Party

SAN DIEGO—With 98% of NFL fans watching the Super Bowl from home, the one- hour television special The Ultimate Tailgate Party, hosted by culinary celebrity Chef Roc, will highlight one-on-one interviews with NFL Hall of Famers (and Super Bowl ring winners), getting inside their heads to discover what they did (and still do) to prepare for the big game. Great stories will abound.

In addition to the interviews, the NFL Hall of Famers will pair off in teams for a world-class BBQ cook-off. The teams will include Mike Haynes (1997 inductee), Eric Dickerson (1999), Ronnie Lott (2000), Warren Moon (2006), Terrell Davis (2007), Dermontti Dawson (2012), Andre Reed (2014) and Tim Brown (2015). They will compete to determine the ultimate tailgate BBQ creations.

All the fun will be shot at the Hidden Oaks Ranch & Studio in Rainbow, California. This Covid-19 friendly studio, formerly used by ABC Sports, covers five acres. The cook-off will take place on a unique outdoor kitchen set built especially for The Ultimate Tailgate Party, allowing the participants to maintain social distancing, keeping them and crew members safe.

The set will feature four barbecue stations, each with a grill, mini-refrigerator and sink. The stations will also include outdoor couches and chairs, canopies for The Ultimate Tailgate Party shade, and hammocks, as well as glass firepits and patio heaters (in the event of cool weather). The idea is to create a comfortable workspace for each of the four teams so the NFL Hall of Famers can enjoy themselves while they face-off in the ultimate tailgate showdown.

And because every party needs beverages, The Ultimate Tailgate Party will also feature TV’s craziest bartending segment with World Champion Flair Bartender Chad Berkey. He will demonstrate his amazing mixology skills and show viewers how to prepare some of his favorite cocktails.

The one-hour special will be air on several national outlets the week of Super Bowl 2021. (In the event that there is no Super Bowl due to Covid-19 issues, the show will still be available as an alternative form of entertainment for football fans.) All the interviews, recipes and drinks will be available across social media platforms and at The Ultimate Tailgate Party is being produced by TRIO TV, LLC, a content development company.
