Soundcast Hires New National Director Of Training

SAN DIEGO - Soundcast Systems, developer and manufacturer of high-performance wireless music systems, has hired Jesse Coyer as its new director of Training. The move is part of the San Diego-based company’s accelerated business growth plan.

Jesse started his consumer electronics career in sales at Ultimate Electronics in the 1990s. He advanced to store management and was promoted to general manager in 2004. In 2005, Jesse joined Magnolia Home Theater as a supervisor, and later advanced to in-home sales with their Geek Squad entity. He helped develop their scalable field selling and training program.

In 2009, Jesse was promoted to the Best Buy corporate leadership team where he was responsible for Magnolia Home Theater sales, training and operations strategy, as he worked hand-in-hand with district and territory field teams for the $500M chain. During his 7+year tenure at Best Buy/Magnolia Home Theater, Jesse helped create several groundbreaking sales tools and led an innovative training strategy that greatly improved the customer experience and success.

Jesse will be traveling with Soundcast’s regional sales managers to visit channel partners, as well as reaching out by telephone to key dealers and distributors to learn about their business, unique training needs, sales staff, and corporate culture. He will work to develop and deliver the training components needed to support Soundcast partners with the tools to present wireless audio products with ease and success.

“It has certainly been a turbocharged six-months at Soundcast with the accelerated business plan running at autobahn speed concurrently with the largest product launch (Melody) in the company’s history,” says Mike Weaver, president of Soundcast Systems. “It was essential that we strengthen the team and hire a full-time training manager to support our new dealers in varied markets. The degree of CE specialty, CI and big-box retail experience that Jesse Coyer brings to the table from day one is remarkable. We are so happy to add Jesse to our support team.”

The company recently was awarded a 2014 CES Innovations Honoree Award for its new Melody Portable Wireless Speaker System (pictured), its seventh award since the official launch at CE Week in NYC.
