PHILADELPHIA - Alfresco Home announces the retirement of industry veteran Rick Baker effective September 1, 2022. Rick has served in his current position nearly 9 years as S.E sales manager and previous two years as company sales representative.

According to Joseph Cilio, president and CEO, “Rick has been at the forefront of making Alfresco Home Great! Traveling the country sharing the Alfresco Home message and diligent curation of key accounts, Rick has been a great partner in business and has become a great friend to me and many on the AH team.”

Prior to joining Alfresco Home, Rick’s career in the outdoor casual furniture business started in the early 1990’s as a retail store manager for Patio Enclosures Inc. based in Macedonia Ohio. As the store thrived, Rick was promoted to general manager, then Company Vice President of the specialty products division.  Ultimately, Rick was responsible for opening new locations and the company patio retail stores grew to four along with providing patio and rattan furniture, window décor and flooring for the company’s forty other locations across the country. 

In 2003, Patio Enclosures Inc, won the prestigious Apollo award under Rick’s direction for the best retail store in the country.  Rick served on the editorial board for Casual Living Magazine, he was President of the Casual Furniture Retail association and was featured in numerous articles in trade magazines and recognized as an industry expert by Smithsonian magazine.  Rick moved from Ohio to Florida in 2005 and became national sales manager for a patio furniture manufacturer and a few years later with a well-known patio furniture manufacturer in Michigan before Alfresco Home.

According to Rick, “Alfresco Home was truly a family and leaving the family to retire away from the business was a tough decision.  I truly appreciate having the opportunity to work with such a fine company and the people there.  Great company, fine people, and beautiful product made my job very easy.” 

Rick adds, “I made a lot of friends along the way in the casual furniture and garden products industry and many of them have gone on to great things winning Apollo awards and lifetime achievement awards.  To all of you and everyone I have had the pleasure of working with, I thank you.”

Rick plans to stay with Alfresco Home as an independent sales representative and spend more time with his wife Cindy and grandchildren.
