BERKELEY, CA - Pizzacraft® at-home pizza-making tools and accessories, including the award-winning Pizzeria Pronto Outdoor Pizza Oven, will host the second annual all-you-can-eat pizza festival taking place on Saturday, October 17th in Berkeley, California, Gilman & 9th Street.
From 11 am to 3 pm, guests can sample pizzas cooked on the over 20 roaring pizza ovens and vote for the People’s Choice Award, as well as watch demos of pizza making tools and techniques, shop the Pizzacraft store, relax in one of the beer gardens, and let the kiddos play in the Kids’ Fun Zone. Best of all, the proceeds from this event all go toward Pizzacraft’s favorite charity, Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency, which serves the homeless, poor, and disabled in the Bay Area.
Tickets for the festival are already online; online tickets are $10 for adults, while door tickets are $20 (cash only). The ticket price gets you unlimited, all-you-can-eat slices from the competing teams as well as $5 off your next pizzacraft.com purchase. Children under 12 years are free when accompanied by an adult.
After the success of last year’s Pizzafest (watch the recap video at the link below, or read our blog post), Pizzafest is going to be bigger and better. Cook teams from last year’s cookoff were invited back to defend their titles against a new crop of pizzaiolos looking to show their stuff.
Winners of the People’s Choice Award are determined by popular vote, and receive gift certificates to the pizzacraft.com online store as well as the Golden Pizza Peel. Pizzafest is also expanding its beer selection, with both Lagunitas Brewery and Fieldworks Brewery pouring brews for $5 each (with all proceeds going to B.O.S.S.). B.O.S.S. will also be there to raise awareness for their organization and their fight against the root causes of poverty and homelessness, and to raffle off a pizza oven gift set for $1 per ticket.
Guests inspired by all of the taste-testing have the chance to learn how to make pizza themselves, and to shop for pizza-making tools and accessories. There will be demos of the Pizzeria Pronto Outdoor Pizza Oven, a revolutionary propane-powered pizza oven that’s lightweight and portable, but still reaches temperatures up to 700ºF or more and can cook a pizza in 5 minutes (All cook teams will be using the ovens for their own creations!). For those who like a little smoke as a topping, the PizzaQue Pizza Kit for Kettle Grills, which converts a charcoal kettle-style grill into a pizza oven, will also be demonstrated.
In between wolfing down slices, kids can take a break to play in the Kids’ Fun Zone. Children can have their faces painted, play mini carnival games, or create their own paper “pizzas” at the crafts table. Guests of all ages can snap selfies at the Pizzafest photobooth to make their Facebook friends wish they were there!
