Pelican Reef Workers in the Philippines Have Successfully Received Donations

PHILIPPINES - In the wake of the devastating typhoon last month in the Philippines, company officials at furniture manufacturer Pelican Reef made appeals for help to friends, family, and furniture dealers.

Ultimately, relief goods and thousands in cash donations poured in. Factory representatives acknowledged the donations with photos and a thank you note, which said the following.

Thanks to the Donations of Pelican Reef’s Staff, Representatives, Customers — warmly received and appreciated by our staffs and workers who were also affected by the recent calamities. We will never forget your help. God bless you all!

Pelican Reef maintains one of the last remaining rattan and wicker factories near the city of Cebu, and workers there were severely affected by the typhoon. The factory has been producing best-selling rattan dining sets, wicker barstools, and bamboo bedroom groups for more than 30 years. All of the products that say Made in Philippines are from this sister factory.

Company officials confirm that 100% of the money has gone to workers and their families who have been providing their proud services for many years. Pelican Reef wire transferred the collected funds each Friday for 3 weeks, ending Nov 29, 2013.
