Pelican Reef Factory Workers in Philippines Affected by Storms

PHILIPPINES - Company officials at furniture manufacturer Pelican Reef are making appeals to friends, family, and furniture dealers who may wish to donate to relief efforts in the Philippines.

Pelican Reef maintains one of the last remaining rattan and wicker factories near the city of Cebu. The factory has been producing best-selling rattan dining sets, wicker barstools, and bamboo bedrooms groups for more than 30 years. All of the products that say Made in Philippines are from this sister factory.

Pelican Reef is working to raise funds by collecting donations from individuals and/or companies. Company officials confirm that 100% of the money received will go to the workers and their families that have been providing their proud services for many years.

“We know that any amount will help them secure food, clothing, and help to rebuild their homes,” said company officials via press release. “Pelican Reef will wire transfer the collected funds each Friday for the next 3 weeks ending November 29, 2013. Those interested can make a donation via check, paypal, or credit card.”
