Merritt International Unveils New Collections For 2016 During Chicago Casual Market

SUN VALLEY, CA - Merritt International has introduced heavy-weight melamine collections for 2016, including multiple natural wood and decorative stone motifs. During the Chicago International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market, Merritt will debut hundreds of individual pieces in numerous collections in temporary showroom 7-3011, Chicago Merchandise Mart.
Included in the 2016 collections is wood-look dinnerware including Amberwood, Driftwood, and Rosewood designs. Medallion Lace in green, turquoise and ivory is a unique dinnerware with an embossed lace design. On Ivy Garden, the stoneware-look melamine is adorned with a textural design that encircles the plate with lines and floral elements.
Colorful Gemstone as well as White Scallop, Pebble, and Rope are all natural stone inspired decorative designs with unique edge embellishments. Trays and serving pieces are included within the new collections to further emphasize the total outdoor dining experience.
“Anyone picking up our product for the first time is amazed,” said Kimberly Plummer, sales and marketing manager for Merritt. “Besides the textured ceramic-like motifs, this season we have the wooden looks that have been met with a very positive response. They again fool the consumer in that the melamine construction offers an outdoor durability yet in a natural looking product.”
During the Market, Merritt will showcase designs focusing on intimate “table stories” – or dining vignettes. Tables are set with a different collection utilizing a design or color scheme that includes Merritt’s coordinating drink ware and placemats to complement the dining plates and serving pieces.
“We strive to create a one-stop tabletop shopping experience through the mix-and-match possibilities for which Merritt is known,” said Plummer. “Our showroom displays, while highlighting our newest designs, will continue to emphasize individual color and dining stories that retailers will be able to create for their customers as well.”
Subsequent to the Casual Market, the new introductions from Merritt will be on display at the International Pool Spa Patio Expo Nov 7-12 in Las Vegas.
