ROCK HILL, SC - Casual Cushion Corp recently invested in advanced manufacturing technology with the purchase of a new M5-180 Pathfinder cutting machine in February.
This Pathfinder model is a computer-controlled cutting machine with a conveyor belt to pull new fabric forward once one cut is complete. Casual Cushion’s cutting operation has seen a marked increase in efficiency since the machine was installed at the company’s flagship facility in Rock Hill, S.C.
“We take a lot of pride in the products that we make,” said Jose Ferreira, director of Operations for Casual Cushion. “The addition of the Pathfinder machine allows us to program and efficiently cut more detailed patterns with greater precision and volume. When comparing the performance of the Pathfinder against our other automated and manual cutting operations, we have been extremely pleased with the results.”
A pillar of Casual Cushion’s growth plan is to continuously research and monitor new technologies in the industry, and update its facilities accordingly. This ensures that the manufacturing process is as efficient as possible, and that the quality of its products continues to be the best in the industry.
“We are very excited about the new Pathfinder cutting machine,” said C.P. Davis, CEO of Casual Cushion. “I strongly believe that investing in this new technology will deliver excellent benefits for both Casual Cushion and our customers, and will also provide our company a sustainable competitive advantage.”
