HAMILTON, MT - The fireplace has evolved, and craftsmen in the 14,000-sq-ft Ironhaus shop have kept pace with a blend of tradition and innovation.
“The fireplace is no longer just a source of heat, or a boring box for optimal heating in the winter,” says Tim Campbell, owner and lead designer, Ironhaus. “How and when we use it, as well as the materials we use in its construction, have changed. Though traditional style fireplaces are still popular, homeowners look for ways to update their old black box.”
Campbell still operates from his shop in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana where he grew up learning the family blacksmithing business. Wanting to combine the honed craft with his artistic sensibilities, Campbell set out to work designing and crafting architectural elements like iron railing, fireplace doors, and lighting products for discerning homeowners who wanted something artistically inspired, exceptionally crafted, and functional for the home.
Word spread and Campbell was asked to lend his vision and craft to a project for the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He designed railings, fireplaces, and lighting to complement the stunning landscape of this area and the resort’s architectural vision. Ironhaus’ iron surrounds is currently filling orders for discerning dealers looking to offer something different to customers.
