Infringement Case Against FiberBuilt Dismissed

FT LAUDERDALE, FL - For the past year, FiberBuilt Umbrellas & Cushions has been fighting allegations of patent infringement from Tuuci, LLC. The case alleged patent infringement of FiberBuilt’s Contempo Umbrella, which is exclusively sold to Texacraft/Winston Contract, a Brown Jordan International Co. FiberBuilt has maintained from the outset that allegations were completely devoid of merit and simply a tactic to avoid lawful competition.
On November 24, 2014, FiberBuilt was vindicated when Tuuci was forced to voluntarily dismiss its complaint in order to avoid an adverse finding and potential liability for damages, including FiberBuilt’s attorneys’ fees. The lawsuit dismissal culminated several months of litigation and came immediately after FiberBuilt refused Tuuci’s offer to settle the matter confidentially.
