ICFA Seeks Design Excellence Entries

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Entries are now being accepted for the 2021 Design Excellence Awards, the premier design recognition for home furnishings and accessories produced for outdoor living.
The competition is open to all companies who planned to exhibit at the 2021 Casual Market Chicago, as well as outdoor fabric suppliers, who are not required to be exhibitors. The entry fee is $100 per product for members of the International Casual Furnishings Association, which coordinates the competition. Non-members may enter for $500 per product. There are no limitations on the number of entries submitted.
The entry deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021.
Entries are sought in 12 categories: dining or bar table, dining or bar chair, chaise lounge, lounge seating – cushion, lounge seating – non-cushion, shade product, outdoor lighting product, heating/firepit, outdoor carpeting/rugs/flooring, fabric, complementary casual products-accents and complementary casual products-furnishings.

Again this year, the Design Excellence category judging will take place online. All category winners will be announced after the judging, with awards to be presented at the ICFA Awards Gala on Wednesday, September 22, at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. The Lillian B. Winchester “Best of Show” Award will also be presented from among the 12 category winners.
As ICFA has done for the past six years, all Design Excellence entries will be featured in the September/October printed edition of Casual Living. Sister publication Furniture Today will include this issue of Casual Living in the mailing of its September 13 issue to 17,000+ subscribers.
In addition, an online portfolio created by ICFA will be presented on the ICFA and Casual Living websites. The online portfolio will also be promoted in a Furniture Today newsletter distributed to about 40,000 subscribers. There is no additional fee to be included in the online microsite.
