Heat & Glo® Introduces the MEZZO™ Series: Modern Fireplaces with Smartphone Controls

LAS VEGAS - Heat & Glo® has introduced the MEZZO™ Series of modern gas fireplaces at the International Builders’ Show (Booth #C6116) in Las Vegas, which concludes on Feb 6. They will be the first fireplaces from Heat & Glo available with a smartphone app, making it possible for homeowners to control fireplace settings from virtually anywhere inside or outside the home.
“The MEZZO Series allows designers and consumers to bring their vision and style to life, with a variety of sizes and accessory options” said Bob Ballard, senior vice president of Marketing at Heat & Glo. “Builders will also appreciate the opportunity to set their homes apart with a dramatic focal point that leaves a lasting impression.”
Included in the series will be three fireplace sizes: 36-inch, 48-inch and 60-inch. Each size will be available as a single-sided or a see-through fireplace viewable from two rooms. MEZZO Series fireplaces reflect the trend for clean modern fireplace designs with a linear shape, flush-to-the-wall installation, and low-profile trim. Active flames span the full length of the fireplace, and softly reflect off the black glass interior.
Clear LED under-lighting illuminates the firebox from beneath a bed of crushed glass, creating an effect that can be enjoyed when the flame is on or off. Consumers can customize the look of their MEZZO with seven colors of crushed glass, including iced fog. Natural logs can be added for a fusion of traditional and modern style.
Three optional designer fronts are available in multiple colors and finish options to coordinate with home décor. Featuring Heat & Glo’s new IntelliFire™ Touch Controls, they can be controlled from a Wi-Fi-enabled app on smartphones and tablets. With this system, homeowners can turn the fireplace on and off, control room temperature, engage a child safety lock, and adjust flame height, LED lighting, and timer remotely.
MEZZO Series fireplaces feature direct vent gas technology, expelling 100% of exhaust gases outside of the home to protect indoor air quality. They are outfitted with Heat & Glo’s IntelliFire intermittent pilot ignition, which can save homeowners up to $10 per month on energy costs. As with all Heat & Glo fireplaces, safety barrier screens ship standard with the units and comply with new ANSI standards.
