Big Green Egg Begins Shipping the New MiniMax™

ATLANTA - Officials at Big Green Egg began shipping the all new MiniMax Big Green Egg earlier this month. The new size is the Atlanta-based company’s most portable and versatile EGG. This EGG arrives with its own transportation in the form of a sturdy, easy-to-grip carrier, perfect for camping, poolside, and tailgating at the ballgame. MiniMax is built to perform and ready to travel wherever customers’ outdoor activities take them.
For many years, casual grillers have enjoyed the portability and performance of the Mini EGG, and acclaimed chefs have recognized the opportunity to enhance their restaurant’s menu and customer experience by adding the versatility of smaller EGGs to their lineup. In many cases, their Mini and Small EGGs are prominently positioned in the main kitchen as their go-to workhorse alongside the other commercial cooking surfaces.
In 2013, the convEGGtor (Plate Setter) was added to the Mini, giving it even more range and versatility. As the Mini EGG continues to gain more fans of the enhanced culinary experience, demand has grown for an even larger cooking surface in a small, yet high-, package. To satisfy this demand, the Big Green Egg “MiniMax” was announced and unveiled to the world at HPBA Expo 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
MiniMax was designed with the same height of a Mini, yet all the volume capabilities of a Small. With a compact size that is perfect as a table-side cooker at a garden party, or grilling on balconies for an intimate dinner for two, the MiniMax EGG is sure to deliver oversized results in a small package.
Opening the dome reveals a stainless steel cooking grid measuring 13 inches/33 cm in diameter for 132 square inches/854 cm2 of cooking area—all within a convenient 19.5 inch/49.5 cm height. Like all EGGs in the Big Green Egg family, the MiniMax can handle virtually any cooking need, from cooking low and slow for hours to flash searing at ultra high temperatures.
The MiniMax accommodates numerous EGGcessories designed exclusively for the EGG—including a convEGGtor for indirect cooking—utilizing the full versatility of the EGG.
