ORLANDO - The 2014 International Pool I Spa I Patio Expo made a splash as it returned to Orlando for the first time in seven years, November 5-7, 2014, bringing the region an impressive display of industry products, education and networking opportunities.
This year’s PSP Expo drew 11,103 attendees from across the country and around the world, a strong showing from the global pool, spa and outdoor industries. Attendees experienced a 148,600-sq-ft exhibit hall packed with brand new industry product launches, innovative show floor features, and an unmatched line-up of on-floor events. The PSP Expo’s conference program, prize giveaways, celebrity appearances and many other new show features added to the additional success of this year’s event.
The 2014 PSP Expo exhibit hall was a stunning display of water, technology and equipment in 1,486 booths representing 552 companies. Exhibitors greeted attendees with incredible booths that not only pleased the eye, but were packed with products to benefit the attendees’ businesses. Coast Spas unveiled the first-ever infinity edge swim spa, a landmark in beauty and design for the industry.
Marquis Spas displayed the power of their spa equipment as the “official hydrodynamic performance consultant” to the first-ever Carpool Coupe DeVille, a captivating display in their booth. Exhibitors such as Kelley Technical Coatings, Pleatco, the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) and others celebrated their business anniversaries, scholastic success and the uniqueness of special professionals with events on the show floor that highlighted the strength in time and commitment to the industry. In addition to these unique experiences, the show floor featured two new areas, the Commercial Pavilion and APLD Designer Landscape Pavilion, both of which were also in high demand at the expo.
Attendees of this year’s PSP Expo had an unparalleled opportunity for learning, not only through the APSP and Genesis 3 pre-conference offerings and over 250 hours of PSP Expo conference sessions, but also through a new network of on-floor education features. 2014 was the first year for the Commercial Education Classroom, located on the show floor at the expo.
These classes were free to attendees as part of the inaugural year launch of the commercial expansion of the PSP Expo. In addition to the already popular on-floor Genesis 3 Lifestyle Program and Hayward School of Business education classes, the 2014 PSP Expo also featured Splash Talk Networking Lounges that offered social media and backyard living learning opportunities.
“It was a pleasure to host the professionals who attended from around the country and globe,” says Tracy Garcia, CEM, Show Director. “Thank you to our attendees, expo sponsors and partners, the exhibitors and to all participants, for making 2014 another incredible showing for the industry.”
The 2014 PSP Expo did not fall short on fun and networking opportunities either. The Welcome Party, sponsored by the APSP International Awards of Excellence, rocked the house at B.B. King’s Blues Club on opening night. At sunset on Thursday, attendees poured into the Hot Spot, right off the show floor, to enjoy Saber Grills’ delicious BBQ specialties and complimentary beverages from Strong Spas.
The show wrapped on Friday with the new Pool PRIZE Party, sponsored by Passion Spa and hosted by the stars of the hit Animal Planet show, Tanked. Thousands of dollars in prizes including a trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2015 PSP Expo, $3,500 cash and a Passion Spa, were given away to attendees present at the event.
