R.H. Peterson Co.’s Trapezoidal Diamond Sear Cooking Grids Receive U.S. Patent

RH Peterson Co. has received U.S. Patent D857,453 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its Diamond Sear cooking grids. The grids’ trapezoid-shaped design delivers more heat to the surface of the grill, retaining juices in the food.

Available in various types and sizes, the Diamond Sear grids are featured on Fire Magic and American Outdoor Grill (AOG) models. The tops of each individual bar of the Fire Magic grids measure .33” wide throughout and in total cover up to 50 percent of the grill’s cooking area. The AOG cooking grids are slightly smaller at .28-.29” wide and cover 40-45 percent of the surface of the AOG.

Introduced in 2018, the Diamond Sear cooking grids were designed by R.H. Peterson Co. employees David Keck, David McCullough, Boris Gorelik and Jon Bridgwater.

“Another first for Peterson, continuing the spirit, dedication and craftsmanship of our founders Bob Peterson and Harold Keck,” stated President Leslie Bortz. “Our trapezoidal Diamond Sear cooking grids represent another step in Fire Magic’s 80-year history of developing innovative outdoor grilling products that uniquely meet consumers’ needs.”
