Seaside Casual’s MAD Chat Chair Earns ICFA Award

COVENTRY, RI - Seaside Casual’s MAD Chat Chair received the International Casual Furnishings Association’s Design Excellence award for outstanding product design in the Lounge Seating without Cushion category.
“The MAD Chat represents a culmination of a number of design innovations we have developed over the course of the past few years,” Kate Carret, Seaside CEO said. “We introduced the Modern Adirondack Design Collection in 2015 with the MADirondack Lounge and MAD dining, bar and balcony sets” and “We added ‘Fusion’ to MAD in 2016, allowing customers to add splashes of contrasting color and personality into their dining collections without paying a premium or extending lead times.”
The MAD Chat takes the lines and color flexibility from its predecessors and combines joinery developed for the also new 2017 DEX collection, delivering a unique style, superb ergonomics, and strength, that delivers the perfect sit for casual chat groups so popular today.
According to Andy Boyce, Seaside vice president of Sales, “Our Design Team collaborated to answer customer requests for a seating solution that combined Adirondack comfort with a contemporary style in a smaller footprint”, he said, “and The MAD Chat delivers on all fronts.”
The MAD Chat will join the DEX Modular Lounge Collection and the rest of Seaside Casual’s 2017 introductions at the Casual Market in Chicago (Showroom 7-2016, 1022), Sept. 20-23, and High Point Market (Suites at Market Square, M-3060), Oct. 22-26.
ICFA – Entrants for the Design Excellence competition must be exhibitors at Casual Market Chicago at the Merchandise Mart. Eligible designs are slated for introduction in the marketplace at the upcoming trade exhibition, and must represent exceptional design innovation and technical product innovation in the category.
