KoverRoos to donate 10% of online sales to Australia Wildfire Fund

AUSTIN, TX - As the Australia Wildfires continue to wreak havoc in New South Wales and Victoria, KoverRoos is committed to helping in the rescue and recovery efforts by donating 10% of all online sales from now until the end of February to the Australia Wildfire Fund.

The Australian wildfires have killed 30 people and more than a billion animals, burned 24.7 million acres of bush, forest and parks, and destroyed more than 2,000 homes.1 The aftermath of the wildfires will be devastating for years to come as the Australian wildlife and environment struggles to recover. 49 threatened species have had more than 80% of their natural habitat affected by bushfires in southern and eastern Australia.2

KoverRoos’ name, logo, and product inspiration comes from the kangaroo, who are native to Australia. Seeing the photos of kangaroos and wildlife fleeing and suffering from wildfire burns is gut wrenching. “With so many plant and animal species on the brink of extinction, we cannot afford to turn a blind eye as a business. The success of our business is dependent on the health of our environment.” says Margaret Kao, operations and sustainability manager. KoverRoos will continue to strengthen and develop the company’s dedication to sustainability and will focus on the triple bottom line to include social, environmental, and economic concerns. We encourage others in the casual furniture industry to also support this effort.

The Australia Wildfire Fund is managed by Austin based Global Wildlife Conservation, a non-profit organization, who will directly support and distribute 100% of the funds raised to on the ground organizations Aussie Ark, Bush Heritage, and WIRES Wildlife Rescue.
