HearthStone’s TruHybrid™ Technology Paves Way for Future of Wood Heating; Governor to Visit Dec 5

MORRISVILLE, VT - The HearthStone brand, with its manufacturing facility in Morrisville VT, has been working diligently to be at the forefront of clean burning solid fuel technology for over 40 years. HearthStone always works toward their Green Energy Promise: to deliver sustainable, locally sourced, green heating solutions.

With new EPA regulations coming into effect mid 2020, the engineering team at HearthStone has developed what has proven to be an uber-efficient, ultra-low emissions combustion system – the TruHybrid™. This system combines current primary and secondary clean burning technology with a tertiary catalytic combustor.

In November, 2018 HearthStone’s Castleton TruHybrid wood stove [EPA Certified at 0.69g/hr] was on demonstration in Washington, DC at the Wood Stove Design Challenge. During this event, the Castleton proved in a “real world” setting the successfulness of the TruHybrid™ system that was originally certified by Hearthlab Solutions, emitting 1.18 grams of particulates per hour on cordwood.

HearthStone currently has 4 wood burning units on the VT Wood Stove Change Out list that qualify for an $800 incentive.  These units all have a particulate rating of 2.0 grams per hour of less and have an efficiency of over 70%. This Change Out program is offered to help offset the costs of replacing older and less efficient wood burning stoves. More information on this program can be found on the VT Renewable Energy Resource Center’s website at http://www.rerc-vt.org/.

On Wednesday Dec 5, 2018, Vermont Governor Phil Scott is visiting HearthStone with a contingent of individuals from the Agency of Natural Resources, Department or Environmental Conservation, Forest, Parks and Recreation Department, and the Vermont Public Service Department. They will be discussing the current Wood Stove Change Out program as well as learning more about the new clean burning technologies HearthStone is developing for the next generation.
